Hello Aperture Foundation!

Hello Aperture Foundation!

Aperture Foundation

Waking up I was so excited to think that today is going to be the beginning of an amazing opportunity that slipped my way. After graduating in May, my life has been an unexpected on-pour of turmoil. Although it wasn’t quite pleasing I believe it was necessary for me get the tough skin for my move to New York City. Yes, New York, I made it once again, little old me, a black girl from Reynoldsburg, Ohio. I can’t believe it’s actually happening but it is. I am definitely humbled by this opportunity.

After graduating in May, my life has been an unexpected on-pour of turmoil.

Aperture—a nonprofit foundation dedicated to promoting photography—was founded in 1952 by photographers Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Barbara Morgan, Minor White, historian Beaumont Newhall, writer/curator Nancy Newhall, as well as Melton Ferris, Ernest Louie, and Dody Warren. This foundation grew over the years to incorporate book and magazine design, along with production, exhibitions, and a wide range of programming.”
